By Jonathan Huckabay I used to install car stereos for 6 years and this is the best, hands down, bargain for the quality and performance. Pre-amp outputs are front, rear and sub rated at 4 volts each. This is -perfect- Has an Auxillary 35mm(1/8 inch) plug for any audio playing device you could think of; it has a USB port on the front and beyond the Crabapple iPod you can use a USB flashdrive. I opt for the flash drive with 8 gigabytes rather than anything else. CD Play is perfect and skip free and capable of "forcing" the player to read those aweful CDs that are scratched beyond belief. I have read and heard numerous complaints of the complexity of the owner's manual but I shall report that it pales in complexity to any home stereo reciever manual. You basically use ONE KNOB which lets you keep your eyes on the road as you turn up or turn down the volumne, change the song, change the USB music folder, change the equalizer, change the high/low/subwoofer pass filters and MORE with ONE KNOB! Remote control also included in case you just want to lay back and not move your arm nor lean forward with an abcrunch to adjust anything. For the money, for the features and for the quality you need to buy this and get your friends to buy one themselves. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Overall great budget unit By David I bought this based primarily on 2 reasons. Firstly, I need 3 pre-outs to match my current audio setup, and secondly this has a USB connector. A few other benefits were front panel AUX IN, 2 lines of info display, decent EQ capabilities, and a blue display (to match my dash color scheme.) I replaced my 8-10 year old Sony Xplode head unit with this. I haven't owned any other units except my Sony, so I cant comment much on comparisons. This plays CD within 2 seconds after loading, it scans the USB drive after plugin and is ready to play within 3-4 seconds(+1). The radio tuner works great and gives much more precise audio quality then my previous unit. The EQ functions and control granularity are probly 2-3 times as advanced as my Sony (+1) I read a lot of reviews saying this is "hard to control" as a negative point, I disagree - this was very easy to learn. I did have a small stumbling with the initial setup tho. This was shipped in the "STANDBY" mode where it makes no output when u first turn it on... after wasting 10-15 minutes checking my wiring I realized this (-1) Update: This unit seems to be glitchy with the USB drive where sometimes it will not read or it will say "reading..." but never do anything. This issue happens a few times a week; I need to unplug & replug the drive in to fix this. Alos, over the winter I experienced multiple issues where the unit turns off entirely when I touch a button on the face. This may be related to cold weather or a loose wire, I will post back if I find a cause. 12 of 16 people found the following review helpful. For the price, this is a feature-packed head unit By SMDEE Let me clearly explain that I am not using an external amplifier with this unit. Consequently, I have no experience with the pre-outs and bass control. The audio qualities are not my top interests for this purchase. Features, ease of use, and the display are my main tagets. That said... I am building a portable radio using a car head unit to provide input sources and amplification along with a pair of Polk db651 speakers . My requirements were to be able to listen to AM/FM (HD radio and Bluetooth at some future time), CDs, MP3s on CD, AUX input (MP3/portable DVD player), USB thumb drive, wireless remote, and the ability to control iPODs via the head unit. Another critical feature for me was a display that was visible in sunlight (at the beach) and could be read from a distance. I demo'd two Pioneer Premier units (P610BT and P510B), an Alpine unit (CDA-105), two JVC

Deba This is a pretty legit stereo, it's not amazing but it's good for the price range. I've had some stereos before that feature an iPod interface, but usually it turns out to suck really bad. Like it will default to listing all tracks, rather than by artist or album first. I was very pleased with the way this one works - it leaves all settings on the iPod the same, and gives you the ability to control the music via the iPod directly, instead of using the controls on the head unit. My only complaint is that the display is extremely difficult to see on sunny days. Overall, I would recommend this unit for its price range - I would buy it again. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Great radio, for good price By Boston1986 I really like this radio. No need for CDs or listening to radio stations. I am presently driving around with 2911 songs that I like and dont have to listen to twice. The fact that its connected to the Ipod is alot of help, providing the variety, it plays everything in your ipod, including PodCasts... I heard people complain about the screen in previous versions, but i have a sunroof, and i can still CLEARLY see the song title on the radio. Sound quality is really good, and there is barely a delay when switching songs. Overall, like the product. My only complaint is the following... i wish it was easier to browse through the ipod. Once connected, the ipod is disable, and all operation is from radio, which is clearly a plus. But if i want to listen to an artist whose name starts with a W, Im going to have to sit and scroll for a very long time. I wish you could scroll through the first letter, than slower if you want to find someone within that category. Overall good radio, and since it includes the connection cable, it is also a really good deal!! I have my ipod hidden in the drawer and noone can see any cables in my car... Also, since all the controls are on the headunit itself, no need to use the remote, if you dont want to. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. So close to 5 stars... By Y. London I got this stereo to replace the stock cassette player in my 98 Mystique. The difference is far beyond night and day! Paired with my new Pioneer 6x8 speakers, the sound quality and volume is very impressive. Installation was pretty straight forward and the included wiring diagram is sufficient. The only complaint I have about this stereo is the inability to scroll through the ipod menus quickly. If you're browsing your songs, and you have 1000 of them on your ipod, you literally have to scroll 1000 times. Yes, you can browse by playlist, genre, etc. but the slow scroll speed gets annoying sometimes. The menus take some getting used to, but they make sense once you get the hang of them. The included remote is useful for quick audio adjustments and tuning. Radio reception is much better than before, and the volume and SQ is excellent. Highly recommended! GREAT STEREO FOR THE PRICE By blackbeltlover I live in a bad neighborhood in central Phoenix and have had several stereos stolen from my car( about one a year) whether I pull the face off or not. Needless to say, I no longer want to spend big bucks on my sounds and this stereo fit the bill pricewise. For an inexpensive stereo you get clean, crisp, customizable sound, an I pod or mp3 plug on the face, and a great tuner. The last stereo i had cost nearly 3 times what I payed for this and it would not catch my favorite FM station from the other end of town. This stereo catches it clear and loud. I recommend this stereo for anyone on a budget who demands quality sound. 22 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Great no-frills factory radio upgrade receiver. By nitelifeguy I did a lot of research on upgrading my old and worn out factory radio on my Toyota Camry. I was looking for something that did all of the basics (play discs and had an AUX input). I didn't need all of the ipod bells and whistles and was looking for a unit that was budget friendly but had nice audio. After purchasing 2 different receivers, which turned out one of them wasn't compatible with my factory wiring and the second had install difficulty and lower than average sound specs. I came across this Pioneer here on Amazon. The install was a breeze. Fit and looked great in my dash. The sound quality and features were up there with the other major brands. This unit packs more than enough power to liven your music collection up even without a seperate amplifier.I like the 3 band EQ especially to tailor all three frequency ranges (bass, mids and treble) and the SuperTunerIII radio reception is nice even in my rural area. If you just want a receiver that plays your pre-bought and burned CD's and maybe plug an MP3 player into once in awhile, This one is worth a try. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. A good product By David Holloway I bought this CD radio to replace one in a Ford Pickup. I had to purchase a wire harness assembly to install it. The wire harness assembly came with installation directions. It was easier then I expected to install. The radio and C.D. player work wonderfully. I am very satisfied. I would recommend this as a replacement radio. See all 24 customer reviews...

Most helpful customer reviews 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. I am sure this product is fine..... but By S. Parrott Amazon listed this remote as frequently bought with the CDX-M60UI Sony Marine Stereo/CD player. I thought this was a very good deal so I bought both. Turns out it wasn't that great a deal. The Stereo itself is great. The RMX55M remote however, does not have all functionality with the CDX-M60UI stereo. I would estimate about 60 to 70% of the functions actually work. The display will only show radio and Aux sources. It does not display CD or USB. I then researched on Sony's website and found that this remote is not recommended for the CDX-M60UI. Amazon... please change your "Frequently Bought With" suggestions for both the CDX-M60UI and the RMX55M as both imply that they are actually compatible with each other. The item came quick enough from DiscounsJungle, but came postage due!!! I paid for shipping. Why am I being charged extra? I am going to have to send this remote back and get the RMX60M which is actually compatible with the CDX-M60UI I hope the next two transactions are handled a little better. UPDATE: I chose to keep this remote. After finding out that it is subject to a 15% restock fee on top of the shipping back to DiscountsJungle, then adding the $100+ payout for the RMX60M plus shipping, I decided it was not worth the trouble and $$$ to see the extra information on the LCD. After all, the important buttons work as they should. I will get the 60 when it becomes obsolete and is around the price of the 55. I probably will not buy from DiscountsJungle again. Postage due... what a rinky dink outfit! 10 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Works great but has some flaws.. By Todd Martin The stereo gave out on my sailboat and I decided it was time to upgrade so I bought a Sony head unit with iPod control and the RMX55M wired remote so I could control the music from the steering pedestal. The first problem I ran into was that Sony does not sell an extension to the Unilink cables that connect it to the head unit. I had to hand wire one. You'd think 18' would be more than enough but once you start having to thread the wires through all the twists and turns of a boat it comes up short.. The second problem I encountered was there's no dust shield/cover for the unit. All my other Marine electronics come with some type of cover to protect them from the sun, dust, rain, and the general harsh marine environment while the boat is stowed. For some reason Sony did not include this simple yet very important accessory, I'm currently using a cut up plastic cup to cover it during storage. When I stow my boat the pedestal now reads Raymarine, Raymarine, iComm, & Dixie?! The good news is that the interface is great easy to read even in glaring mid-day sun light, the buttons are nice and big for easy operation while you're moving, and is very intuitive to use, I really like the functionality of the product. I just wish Sony would have done a little more research into their target customer base[Boat owners] on this one. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Not worth it honestly. By Ryan Roberts I decided to purchase the RMX55M instead of the lesser expensive one b/c of the LCD option. I thought it would be great to be able to see what song is playing and to browse through my iPod easier. Well that would be great, except when you plug in an iPod or other USB device, the LCD only shows "USB." SERIOUSLY?!?! What's the point of it then? The only real benefit is that you can see the volume level... I guess.

Dial it all in with Sony's EQ3 three-band equalization to get just the sound you're after. UV Resistant Coating A UV Resistant front panel coating protects faceplate helps prevent discoloration from the sun, very important in marine applications. Did need to purchase additional mounting hardware (a metric screw post for back of unit); but very pleased with purchase. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Great radio for a motorcycle By PatrickHenryPDX After many years of good service, the JVC cd player I installed in my Harley-Davidson Electra Glide died. I chose this Sony unit as a replacement primarily in the hopes that it would have some additional weatherproofing relative to the JVC. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Sony, although the face of the unit does not appear to be any more weatherproof than a non-marine stereo. This unit has a 1/8" input on the front to run an iPod or other mp3 player into, and will play a CD loaded with mp3's too. The 1/8" input has a user-adjustable gain setting, which lets you match the Sony to the volume level output by the iPod/mp3 player It seems to produce good volume. I can't attest to the sound quality, because there is no such thing as quality sound when the bike is running, given the high ambient noise level from the bike, wind noise, etc. Nonetheless, the sound can be cranked up pretty well without distorting. One thing that people may be interested in is that this Sony unit plays nice with polarized sunglasses. That is, you can still read the display if you're wearing polarized sunglasses. Many liquid crystal displays (LCD's) are almost impossible to read when wearing polarized sunglasses, so this is a nice feature that was included by Sony. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Much better than stock boat radio By Cyclo I bought this to replace the stock marine radio which came with my SunTracker pontoon boat. I would use the FM modulators on my XM radio and iPhone charger to play those through the radio, but the radio station would "drift" and I'd lose signal I was looking for an inexpensive radio that could lock in the tuner digitally, and everything else was gravy. Well, I got all that and more. Not only do I not get the FM "drift," I can now directly connect those devices through the AUX jack if I want. Installation was a breeze -- I just marked the boat's speaker, power and ground wires and then wired them up according to the instructions. The only thing I did was connect the yellow wire (as well as the red wire) to the ACC instead of the battery line -- I didn't want the unit draining my battery when I wasn't using the boat for extended periods. The time resets every time I turn off the ACC, but I'm OK with that. And it wouldn't work without the yellow wire connected. The unit fit perfectly in the original mounting hole on the boat. Oh, and by the way, it sounds SOOO much better than the original unit through my original speakers - louder, clearer and more "punch" -- even before tweaking the equalization settings I am very pleased with my purchase. Now you don't have to worry about missing out on great music. iTunes Tagging gives you the power to "tag" all of your favorite songs without having to scramble for a piece of scrap paper in the car, then later preview or purchase music at iTunes Music Store. A Better Way to Control Your Music Sick of using buttons to search through your songs? Now you can scroll through your music with greater ease using the 7-way rotary commander. Bring Your Music to Life with Advanced Sound Retriever This year you can hear the detail, warmth, and clarity the way the artist intended it, from all of the highly compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files playing on your CD player. By restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, we can make your music sound close to CD quality. Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner Pioneer's legendary Supertuner IIID combines the best of digital and analog tuner technologies to reduce distortion to bring you exceptional FM and AM performance. If you live in an area where reception is weak, you'll hear a big improvement in signal strength. And when you're near tall buildings, Supertuner IIID reduces the effect of multi-path noise, which occurs when the signal is reflecting off of the buildings. MOSFET 50W x4 Amplifier for the Power Hungry Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, delivering power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. And that doesn't just mean a boost in volume: it means that your music will be cleaner at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. Clean, efficient power that will rock your vehicle. The DEH-7200HD is also well-equipped for those who want to expand their system, with three sets of 4V RCA preamp outputs (front/rear/subwoofer) for system expansion with external amps/speakers, and a two-way crossover with separate high and low pass settings. Get Plugged In Use the built-in AUX input for connecting any digital portable player and other external auxiliary devices. For extra-convenient access, the input is on the front panel. Dial In Your Sound Tweak the sound to your liking with the on-board three-band graphic EQ. The installation took about an hour extra, direct factory HU. Pretty simple once you get the original HU. I had my for about a month P7200HD. HD signal reception is great and I have had no probs breakage / loss of signal. During the 3-line display is nice for song info, etc. I use the USB cable iPod {2.0} Controls are large and iPod can be controlled by HU or the iPod, which is nice for the passengers. Audio Control offers many options to customize your personal taste. I was able to optimize to the point where the factory speakers sound damn good. {Still in the process of updating themselves.} I have not tested the CD / XM / Bluetooth feature yet, but I am convinced that they will perform as well as the rest of the system. On a scale of 1-10 I give a 9.5 P7200HD. The only improvement I would have would be a dedicated iPod connector on the back P7200HD are recommended? You bet! 10 of 10 people found this review helpful. Good sound, good price. Hate the regulator knob. By Michael K. O'Connor I like this head unit and I would buy it again for what I want in a head unit for all the reasons that you can see in the description and other reviews, but be warned it is a big detractor in my opinion . MULTI CONTROL knob which is basically a volume knob on steroids and not just run, but can lean clicked up, down left and right and center are sometimes difficult to use while running. I can not count the times I've tried to get that in the main menu activates, so I could fine tune some sounds happen to be targeted then meet (send me more often than not only the song, but the root directory) instead of it due to road vibration. It's kinda hard to hit center click consistantly when the car is moving and your driving You have to look down, make sure your in the center and then hope the next pebble you drive over doesnt jerk you off your tiny target. I'd much prefer a multiple button setup. Also even when you hit the clicks right sometimes if going over a bumpy road you might click with alot more force than you intend to and I'm constantly afraid of breaking the only knob that controls my stereo. Know that I have most of the fine tuning done I try to use the remote to operate it when possible, But I still need to get into the menu occasionally when I drive and it's a pita to do unless I pull over. I drive a Subaru Legacy wagon not a pickup truck so my ride isn't all that rough although streets around here could be better. Why do we need a Multi knob in a non hand held platform. Multi-knobs are great for hand-held, they suck for a moving target. 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Best Deck with most options for the price By S McDonough This is a great deck with a 3 sets of 4 volt pre-outs, a built in hd-radio tuner, and usb and ipod capabilities. Great deck for functionality. The only two things I would have liked to see are a fold down face to cover the cd entry slot and a second usb port in the rear of the unit to allow a hidden usb connection somewhere in your vehicle. Still beggers can't be choosers and I found through extensive comparison that this product had more of the features that I was looking for the best price. Thank amazon for the lowest price and super saver shipping. See all 30 customer reviews....

It is the first of Kenwood units that work with the iPhone you will need the KCA-iP301V ($ 25 - $ 30) cable. I doin't has Bluetooth adapter yet, so I can not vouch for it, but I know that you can use the screen to dial your contacts and then nave Navigation plugged while looking up a place of business (restaurant), you can press the phone and it will hit the spot. I have iPhone and Kenwood KNA G510 - Navigation system bu Garmin. Nav. is great! Well it is a Garmin and they are the best in the Hub. business. I looked at the Kenwood Excelon DNX8120 has it all ... but .. I wanted a good device that does not stand out in a parking lot and a 7in screen in the dashboard just Beggs be stolen. The screen in the 514 has the new Z-Action(tm) mechanism gives you 12 different viewing angles for optimum visibility Kenwood's flip out screen units have been very good and reliable. 1 word of CAUTION...KENWOOD ONLY HONORS THERE WARRANTY IF YOU BUY FROM THEIR AUTHORIZED DEALERS..(Crutchfield). This is a lot of money for a unit and adds up if you add all the stuff for it, so a warranty is always a good thing. This thing will do it all I am glad I chose this model. I do my homework and buy the best, You cant beat Kenwood and Garmin both have a very good track record...Enjoy.. Works with Kenwood iPod adapter, Bluetooth adapter, HD Radio tuner, satellite radio tuner, and navigation module. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. So much wrong with this unit. By Daniel Walton I have the KVT514, KCA BT200, KST HR200 installed in a Ram 2500. The sound quality is good, however the rest of it is a mess. I wonder if the engineers actually put it in a car and tried it out. Almost all of the buttons on the touch screen are on the right side of the screen, as far away from the driver as possible The screen is big but the buttons are small. If you play music from a USB stick on "Random" expect to hear the same 20 or 30 songs all of the time and very rarely any others. I would expect it to randomly play all of the songs on the USB before starting over. If a picture is loaded that is associated with a song, the song "skips" until the picture loads. I have never found any of the "hidden" HD radio stations that are advertised. Most of the time it cycles back and forth between HD and regular FM about every minute or so. The way the blue tooth interacts with the phone is dangerous. Looking up a phone number is an involved process. 1st if you do a search and enter a letter ALL of the names with that letter are displayed and you have to search through all of them. Then you have to reach all the way across to the right side to touch the small "display" button, and then hit the small dial button If you use a programmed number you have to hit the program button (it is big) then hit the small dial button to connect. (Why not make it so you just it the button and it dials?) If the call fails the system locks up and nothing can be done until you turn it off and back on again to reset it. This means pulling over to the side of the road and shutting the engine off as there is no on/off button on the unit. Much more to say, but not enough room. All in all I am very disappointed in the system and really wish I had bought something else. See all 2 customer reviews....
