I replaced the bad drive with another stock double-DIN unit, but unfortunately JVC poor, mainly because I wanted a group that had an auxiliary port for my iPod. The key points of 3100UB was not just the auxiliary port, but the construction of a front panel USB port for easy installation extremely simple and does not need to purchase additional adapters or cables through the dash or glove compartment. The Pioneer website says they need to pick up the USB cable for the iPod features, but it is not so, my standard iPod sync cable works perfectly for both load and play without any problems. I believe that if you have an extra $ 25 to spend, you can get the Pioneer cable, but it is not necessary. You can use USB flash drives as well - but the system integration iPod / iPhone is transparent, simple and very satisfying. I knew that getting a single DIN but I would give up property interface and greater ease of controls, control "joystick" on this unit, together with the ring-button functions are very easy to use and does not have much time to discover. It becomes intuitive after a few hours of use and ready. Compliments too remote, which does just about everything easier and faster than the front panel controls. READ THE MANUAL! It is an easy to read and the instructions are simple. Once you've got - you got it. The other great feature is the unit is capable of any audio file format you can throw in a CD reading. MP3 and WMA are standard in almost everything, but more difficult for units that are read Apple's AAC files. This unit does it without hesitation (unless iTunes DRM files, you can jump into your iTunes or iTunes Plus convert protected music to DRM-free to about $ 0.30 a pop to use). I can fit about 80-90 songs on a CD and make it a great listening library available with just a few disks that I have my iPod to prosecution Pioneer Sound Retriever for compressed files is the quality of these discs almost allegiance to the standard CD - a great thing! The unit can be extended in several ways: a Bluetooth module (about $ 85) which allows the transmission of audio and mobile phone functionality, HD radio and / or satellite radio, but I have no interest in any of these at this time. It's also got a pair of rear RCA connectors on an amplifier and / or sub-woofer for expansion. The unit itself has a 50-watt x 4 channel MOSFET and the sound is pristine and spends a lot of energy. EQ settings are plenty of both factory settings, programmable track with a 3-band EQ and frequency adjustments based on a reinforcement of bass and volume adjustments and subwoofer and high / low-pass option with a fully adjustable crossover. It's ridiculously complicated and you can really fine-tune it for your taste and the speakers I have stock speakers and this unit really does shine them. I replace them next month with four Pioneers and I can not wait to hear it. The removable front panel is of course a great safety feature. The only con I can think of for this device is that the screen could be brighter. The 4100UB model (the same features across the board, but about $ 25 more) has a much brighter screen, but honestly, it's a real "set and forget" device, so it does not suffer much from me. This unit sells for $ 140 almost everywhere and Amazon had it for $ 125. I'm so happy for a high-end iPod and AAC files compatible device that can be extended with a fine collection of upgrades in the future if I want. It is flexible, powerful, subtle in appearance, and a pleasure for iPod / iPhone owners. Just plug it in and go! No need to buy something else. I really can not recommend this device.
