Elgin just this today to install in my 1990 4runner and bought the front door speaker spacers were not needed. Hooked them up to 600.4 amps orion cobalt wow these things cock! Ive read some reviews say she is not down is crazy! These little things have a lot of ups and downs and mid! Perhaps the reviewers were not placing last enogh power to them. I also have a new pair of Boston Acoustic 6 / 9, to blow these things out of the water in all directions! The time to get rid of them and there is another pair of these! Get this, you will be happy! I can not wait to hear how they sound in a month after a complete break in period! Updated 29 September 09 had just installed another pair in the back and all I have to say is WOW! As I before I was in Boston Acoustic S95 9.6 boxes and they can not say hang with them! You can get away without a sub with these! My intention was to replace the work piece by piece into his system, but once I installed these speakers was clear to me that I do not need to change my unit or add an amplifier. These speakers sound great with the factory HU. Can I turn the HU volume up and Polk can handle without distortion when I installed, I had a popping sound shrill, but I realized the factory was still connected to the subwoofer. From time to pull the sub, the sound was perfect! These speakers pick up the bass perfectly, so I decided not to add a sub at all. Sound quality is not competitive, but more than I'll ever need. Perfect full-range speakers for the average listener. The purchase of these speakers has saved me a lot of money to replace the rest of my system. Polk Thank you! I have also replaced the factory radio because the CD was hooked these speakers up and go to a replacement of the JVC radio. Wow, what a difference. I have read several comments b4 I bought these and many persons in accordance with these flashes with bright replacement speakers was easier than I thought.
